Southampton Telecomms Companies Merge
July 22, 2010
This summer two Southampton-based telecommunications companies will be offering their customers an even more efficient and streamlined service. Next Communications, specialists in mobile communications technology and Test Valley Communications which specialises in fixed line telephone services, announced today that they have merged. It is anticipated that the new company will start trading as a joint entity from August 1st and will launch under the Next umbrella.
Next’s managing director, Mark Finlayson said: “This seemed like a natural step for us to take. Telecommunications is a fast-moving, highly competitive market and we are simply responding to our customers’ demands. Combining our two businesses means we will be able to offer both a fixed line and mobile business solutions package – giving our customers a service which is second to none in this region.”
Test Valley Communications’ managing director, Mark Goulding agreed: “It’s really our customers who stand to benefit. Together, we can offer what is, in effect, a “one-stop- shop”. All communication needs can be managed and serviced from just one point of contact, thus saving time and increasing efficiency and quality of service, something for which both our companies are well-known.”
Customers also stand to gain from the combined knowledge and experience of a team of first-class engineers. Dave Frederick, who has had a highly successful, 16-year career with Next, will be joined by Test Valley Communications’ senior engineer, Lee Trueman. Both men agree that delivering top-class service time after time is the foundation of their respective companies’ success.
