Next Communications is helping sporting youngsters from all over the country take a step closer towards becoming the champions of the future.
Next Communications, based in Millbrook, is sponsoring the Winchester Squash Junior Open tournament, held annually at prestigious Bereweeke Tennis and Squash Club. The competition attracts top talent from all over the UK, including the country’s top ten young players. Over 100 boys and girls enter the two-day tournament and play in a variety of events, ranging from under 11s, up to under 23s.
Next Communications first took on the sponsorship four years ago and its managing director, Mark Finlayson, is committed to continuing the company’s support. He said: “My daughter, Catherine, is a keen squash player with a talent that has been nurtured and honed by some very dedicated coaches. Over the last few years, I have seen her get a huge amount from her involvement with the sport. This tournament really gives up-and-coming young players an important opportunity to develop their skills and competitive edge. Sponsorship plays a vital part in this process and I am delighted that Next is so involved.”
