Next Communications and Hargrove Cycles, coincidentally sited side-by-side in Millbrook, both have managing directors who are not only keen cyclists, but are also keen to help the next generation get ahead.  In fact Pete Hargrove is more than a keen cyclist he is an International Cyclo-Cross rider with many trophies to his name. Since Team GB’s amazing performance at the Beijing Olympics, there has been an explosion in public interest in cycling and achievements of high-profile athletes like Chris Hoy, Bradley Wiggins and Victoria Pendleton have further helped to increase the popularity of the sport.  Young athletes, however, need a great deal of support and sponsorship if they are to succeed and this is where companies like Next play such an important role.

Hargroves Cycles Race Team is delighted to report that it is having an excellent year so far.  Many successes have been notched up, including (among many others) John Dibben, who had two back-to-back wins in Belgium and top junior Daniel McLay who came second in the Paris-Roubaix race.  Luke Gray represented Great Britain at the Mountain Bike World Cup in Houffalize, Belgium, brothers Andrew and Matthew Hargroves made it a double at Goodwood, with Matthew winning the Youth event and Andrew the Senior event.  The team also did well in the National Cyclocross Championships at Sutton Park and the World CycloCross in the Czech Republic. Next Communications, based in Millbrook, is sponsoring the Winchester Squash Junior Open tournament, held annually at prestigious Bereweeke Tennis and Squash Club.  The competition attracts top talent from all over the UK, including the country’s top ten young players.  Over 100 boys and girls enter the two-day tournament and play in a variety of events, ranging from under 11s, up to under 23s.

This is a modified (simplified) version of their market leading BES software and is available as freeware from the Blackberry site.
